FAQ
Questions UAE traders ask us
How does Zoho Books handle VAT on imported goods?
VAT-registered importers in the UAE account for import VAT through the reverse charge on their VAT return. We set up Zoho Books so imports are recorded under the reverse charge, local sales at 5% and exports at the zero rate, and the VAT return picks up each one correctly.
Can we invoice customers and pay suppliers in different currencies?
Yes. Zoho Books records each invoice and bill in its own currency with the exchange rate on the day, so AED, USD and EUR transactions sit in one set of books and report in AED.
Can Zoho Inventory handle a large catalogue across several warehouses?
Yes. Zoho Inventory keeps stock per warehouse, with transfers between them and live quantities on every sales and purchase order. For Ghanim Trading we brought a catalogue of more than 4,000 SKUs into Zoho Inventory with live stock levels.
Does UAE eInvoicing apply to trading companies?
Yes. eInvoicing covers business-to-business transactions, so invoices to trade customers go through an Accredited Service Provider, and the same provider receives the eInvoices your suppliers send you. Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027. Businesses below that appoint one by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027.
How long does a Zoho implementation take for a trading company?
Usually four to seven weeks: two to three days of discovery, three to five weeks of configuration, integration and data migration, then about a week of training and go-live.
